LOCATION: Italy (Pordenone, Friuli-Venezia Giulia)
Formed in 2010, but only really "got started" in 2011. Split up in 2012 when Salvatore received a calling from God to leave everything in his life behind, in order to better follow God's teachings, and have a better relationship with Him. Salvatore answered this call, and nowadays he is a franciscan friar with the "Fraternità Francescana di Betania" / "Franciscan Fraternity of Bethany". Although he doesn't play unblack metal anymore, Salvatore has stated he still supports and respects the movement, and believes it's a great way to evangelize to those in darkness.
About the band name, he said in an interview (see "links" section below),
" 'Anima Mundi' means 'Soul of The world' … Originally it was a pre-Christian concept, but for me has a really different meaning … According to my point of view we are the soul of the world, and we can be a true Hope in this world, where there is fear, pain, deception, madness … You know, sometimes I feel like I’m living in an ugly mess … And the only Way to make a better place for humanity is our Lord Jesus Christ … And We are the Church, we can compare the Church to His Holy 'body' … We are the soul of the world… That’s my opinion. Anyway I know that 'Anima Mundi' is a concept that has been taken also by many Christian people in the History"
