The first four tracks are about Vlad Dracula. They were written for a secular project around 2017 when the artist began feeling Christ calling, but before he had converted. After conversion, the lyrics were modified Detailed descriptions for these four songs can be read below, cross-posted from [this Facebook post].
Candlelit Caverns: I must confess, these lyrics were directly inspired from a video game I grew up adoring, specifically the 4th chapter in the story of a clan named Belmont. It's Christian overtones were never lost on me and they always illuminated something in my heart, even when my separation from Christ was at it's zenith.
Legend of Blood: A historical glance at the Voivode of Wallachia. His trials, tribulations and legacy are touched on at great length in this song. His rise to power, his wife's death, his legacy, all spoken of here.
The Holy Butcher: Blunt and honest historical accounts of warfare and battle. Nothing watered down or glossed over here. His methods of warfare had an Old Testament feel. Were they right? Wrong? Hard to say exactly as we'll never truly be able to separate myth from reality. What can be said with confidence is that they were effective and spare the lives of countless adherents to Christ.
Hereditary Cessation: As the sun surely sets, so too must we all expire from this plane of existence. I often ponder the ultimate fate of this much heralded ruler. Some claim he lost his salvation. Others scoff at such assertions. I pray that the blood of the Redeemer washed away any and all of his transgressions. Ultimately, he is now where he is for eternity.
May the Lord God almighty have mercy on his soul.
