Formed in 2003.
The idea of the band started 17 July, 2003, at a prayer camp that Khaely and Rafael attended in Entre Rios, Goiás. After returning to Distrito Federal / the Federal District, and Rafael's other band "Ruptura" split up, he and Khaely decided to officially begin a band, recruited R. Lobato, and the band formed from there.
The name is taken from the Deuterocanonical books, 1 and 2 Maccabees ("Macabeus" in Portuguese). These books are considered canonical in Catholicism and Orthodoxy, but not in Protestantism.
