Sympathy had started a side project called Carcharoth, and recorded their debut album from 2008-2009. "Carcharoth" was later changed to "Serpent's Breath", they got signed to a label, and planned to release the debut under that name. However, it never ended up happening. (Hoping we'll eventually get more backstory on that?) Years later, they decided to release it themselves, but under their main band, not as a side project anymore.

Although the Carcharoth artwork is used for the 2022 version, the band still considers it a Sympathy release.
