All songs, other than "Песнь 1 (Молитва)" on the first album, and "Заповеди блаженств" on the Царь небесный EP, are instrumental.

The band has repeatedly emphasized they've never used the name "Batushka". They've only used "Batyushka". They often criticize the Polish band, in addition to ideological differences, for misspelling their band name.

Note: The old photo on their Bandcamp was not a band photo. It's used several other places online. The same goes with the new photo. It's an edited version of an existing photo.

They claim to have formed in 2005 (with the same band name), when early demos of their music were recorded. There's almost no chance this is true, but for encyclopedic purposes, I may as well make a note of it. They also claim to be Orthodox priests living in Russia. However, as [this report] on Metal Archives confirms (you need an account on there to view reports), they use non-Orthodox imagery in their artwork, and even misuse Russian words. Thus, this band is clearly not made up of Russian priests.

Nevertheless, they still... appear to be Christians of some sort?... Until more information becomes available, I suppose this page will stay...

Supposedly consists of songs originally written in 2005, that were rearranged and remastered in 2019. Almost certainly not true, but... I don't know.

At any rate, the album was remastered shortly after its original upload date because the band was dissatisfied with the original sound ("loud bass on kick and flat dynamics"). Also at some point, the artwork was slightly changed. The left is the original, and the right is the new one.
