BAND NAME: Old Path
GENRE: Black Metal, Dark Ambient, Atmospheric
STATUS: Split-up
LOCATION: USA (Alaska, early), International (USA/Belgium, later)
Formed in 2001 under the name Khazad Dum.
Changed their name to Old Path in 2002.
2/3 band members now play in secular bands, and the third member seems to have quit music altogether, so I have no idea if any members of this band still identify as Christians or not?
About the location, this page mentions California (CA)... Did Hiram ever actually live there, or is it a typo?
Lineup:
Hiram "Vinterstrings" / "Myth" Lohr - Vocals, Guitars
Ezra - Drums
Past members:
Marcus Beckmann - Unknown
Apparently Tyler Platt was brought on to do session drum work (I don't know which release), but it didn't pan out and never happened.

In the Cathedrals of the Forest (demo, 2001, Independent) (NOT SURE IF LEGIT)
Format: Digital / MP3.com
Mentioned on Metal Archives. I can't find anywhere else that mentions this demo. However, a note in Extreme Brutal Death Zine states that prior to the full-length being released, the band had only released songs through MP3.com. This means that if this release is real, it would have been released there.
1) Enamoured (sample) 1:43
2) Flames of the Deep 6:40
3) From Death's Darkness Rise 2:07
4) In the Cathedrals of the Forest (re-mastered version) 5:40
5) To All the Demon Race 2:12
The Coming of Eternal Dawn (album, 2002, Independent)
Format: Digital / MP3.com (other formats unsure)
It was released digitally for free download, as confirmed in a review in Scissors Magazine. However, a note from the band's old bio reads, "The first album is no longer available because of a lack of funds, but can be downloaded off of the Scissors webzine". This indicates there was another version, presumably physical, but there's no more information available yet.
It seems the album was originally advertised with a different tracklist:
- Fortress of Summoning
- The Black Mist
- Ashen Ways to Olden Paths
- In The Cathedrals of the Forest
- Kristr Skóp Hćimenn Forna
- Rider on the White Horse
- Krieg
(total length would have been 35 minutes)
I found several pictures of the cover art, so I've listed them here. Unfortunately, they're all low-res and low-quality.
Recording for this album was finished in late August, so it would have been released between then and 31 December of that year.
1) Rider on the White Horse 9:10
2) The Black Mist 7:41
3) Im Schwarzwald 6:56
4) In the Cathedrals of the Forest 4:48
5) Ashen Ways to Olden Paths 6:40
6) Fortress of Summoning 5:06

MISCELLANEOUS SONGS
Dark ambient songs that were apparently on mp3.com, track lengths/lyrics unknown
- Kristr skóp hæimenn forna
- Sigerherren på det kvite Hesten
A few songs that were [mentioned] [on] their old website. I don't have more info on these. They have track numbers, so... Did they appear on a release later on, or...?
1) Sombre as the Nightly Shrouds
track length unknown, instrumental
2) Battle of Unnumbered Tears
track length unknown, lyrics:
Dark shrouds unveiled
unearthly screams frozen still
rulers and powers
inflicting obsession
ministering oppression
reaping the living
Two worlds collide, in ancient warfare, waging a war for mankind
Spiritual powers under command, legions of Angels, sword at hand
Summoning the Father's power,
Dark rulers retreating under the arrow's shower
Leading prisoners from captivity, exposing shadows into the light
Calvary rumbling as the thunder, Demonic oppression torn asunder
3) Whispers of Eternity
track length unknown, lyrics:
A horrid scene unfolds before my eyes
People marked with hatred, clothed in damnation
Sorrow sears their flesh, piercing like a sword
Reverence turned ill and so rotten
our Creator all but forgotten
I kneel upon the enemy's soil
crying out to the Father for your Souls
lifting your names before my Lord
summoning His spirit to fill your heart
The Master of all knows the hairs on your head
reaching out to you through the masses of dead
Rise, O' sleeper, come forth to freedom,
let your feet tread the path to the Kingdom
His heart,
is broken for you
His Spirit,
grieves for mankind
His mercy,
always is Faithful
This life,
is nothing to hope for
This life is but a shadow,
passing like the setting sun
Once dead, you shall not rise again
Two kingdoms await for your living soul
This earthly life passes like a shadow into the Eternal
Earthly hope is sorrow, earthly gain is dust, take up your sword and
banish your lust
4) Tale of the Spirits Prison
track length unknown, lyrics:
Part 1-Long Lost and Faded Below
(instrumental)
Part 2-Heart of a Heavy Burden
Filthy chains bind his arms,
stalks clamp tight upon his ankles
These chains rip at his flesh,
blood pouring from his wounds
A dark past plagues his soul,
black thoughts haunt his mind
Demons whisper gloomy melodies,
reverberating deep in his Chamber
He struggles against his chains,
only to fall in hopelessness
Sorrowed screams surge forth,
rising to the throne of Heaven
In his cell of sorrow,
chains fall upon the floor
The darkness is lifted,
as light comes crashing through the door
Prison walls crumble,
demons flee in fear
Raising his eyes toward Heaven,
praising his king in tears
Rising to his feet,
he flings aside the door,
escaping darkness forevermore
