Formed in fall of 2008.
For those who are confused about this project:
Erlösung's Christmas-themed music is a tongue-in-cheek, yet genuine, criticism of materialism/commercialism. Songs talking about "killing Santa Claus", for example, are about killing what Santa Claus represents, the materialistic focus of Christmas, people's focus on money and gifts. Notice that songs that praise Christ Himself are left unedited.
Sebastian is the only person who recorded anything for Erlösung. The other people listed below were short time members but never appeared on any recordings. (Marcellianus also played live.) There were plans for another Erlösung album, but the files were lost in an HDD failure. In band photos where there are two people, the other person is Marcellianus. Info in this paragraph is confirmed by Sebastian.
Most of the project's music has significant symphonic/epic influences, but some of it is very experimental including electronic, folk, and ambient elements.
